Company
Dana Worldwide
Perfumes Dana was founded on August 22, 1932, in Barcelona, Spain, by perfumer Javier Serra. His objective was to market his
masterpiece: a marked scent with 100% natural ingredients which he nominated as Tabu.
Serra´s company was born differently:
instead of naming it with the family’s name as was usual at that time, the perfumer choose a mythological name, easy to be spelled in
any language. So, Perfumes Dana arose, a name which translates into beauty, goodness and purity in the diverse languages in the world.
In Egypt, Dana is the adjective for extremely beautiful young women; in Afghanistan, the word means “beautiful awakening”; for mythology,
Dana was the Goddess who, according to the legend, was seen sowing flowers at the Mediterranean sea coast.
With the success of Tabu brand and others that followed, the company expanded worldwide. After two successions and acquisition of several
brands, New Dana Perfumes Corporation was formed, with headquarter in the United States and subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, Spain,
Canada and Brazil. Group New Dana presently relies on 5 plants and more than 50 representation offices spread throughout the continents.
Perfumes Dana in Brazil
The company started its activities in Brazil in 1956, in São Paulo city, at Santana district. Following its trajectory as in Spain,
sales started with Tabu brand and then incorporated other successful ones, such as Herbíssimo and Canoe.
As of 2005, with the
completion of the subsidiary merging process, Perfumes Dana do Brasil started to have its own guidelines. The contact with the other
branches is still constant, but with the sole objective of keeping the international brands identity.
Currently Perfumes Dana
works with the most modern production equipment and a research and quality control laboratory that incorporates the most recent
technologies of the European and United States plants.
